Etiquette Tips & Tricks for Addressing your Wedding Invites


Addressing an envelope for your wedding / event can be confusing. Check out our fun cheat sheet with ideas on proper etiquette vs. modern and choose the style that best fits you and your event! Mix and match old fashioned vs. Modern for your own spin on addressing!

Old Fashioned:
  • Write out the word “Doctor”
  • Write out “Street, Avenue, Road”
  • Anything under 10 should be written out
  • Miss is used for ladies under the age of 18
  • Write out the entire state
 
Modern: 
  • Abbreviate Doctor to “Dr.”
  • Abbreviate to “St., Ave., Rd.”
  • Keep all numbers in number   form
  • Ms. Is used for all unmarried ladies
  • Abbreviate the state
